What is a low grade flop?

Low grade flops are generally flops that do not require alterations such as trimming or gouging.

For example:

A toy that has been pour short and topped up with a colour that doesn’t match.

A toy where the coloured opening has spilled over or the belly pour is patchy.

What is a medium grade flop?

Medium grade flops are generally flops that require some limited alterations such as wide or inconsistent base trims.

Medium grade flops might also include cases where there are bubbles in the base.

Medium grade defects generally do not require trimming or gouging to render safe.

What is a high grade flop?

High grade flops are reserved for any toy that has required extra trimming, multiple medium grade defects or defects that require gouging to render a toy safe.

A toy with the grade may have extra trimming to remove debris, pigment spots or bubbles in areas that are visible and may impact the visual appeal and feel of the toy.

Are flops safe to use?

All flop classes are considered safe to use and the grades largely reflect the visual/tactile effect of a defect and its consequential alterations, if any, to the toy.
